A city built on a founder's vision and a tech economy

Chandler is named for Dr. Alexander J. Chandler, who opened the townsite office on May 17, 1912. Residents voted to incorporate the Town of Chandler on February 16, 1920. Today it's a major East Valley employment center. The U.S. Census counted 275,987 residents in 2020, and the Census Bureau estimates 278,748 as of July 2025.

Much of that job base sits in the Price Corridor, a business district of about 5.7 square miles. According to the City, its largest employers include Intel, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Northrop Grumman and Microchip Technology. Intel's Ocotillo campus is on Dobson Road.

Chandler homes and neighborhoods

Chandler offers lake communities, golf neighborhoods, established resale areas with mature landscaping, and townhomes and condos close to the job centers. The Census Bureau's 2020–2024 survey puts the median value of owner-occupied homes at $507,800. That's a multi-year average, so for current prices check the live listings below or our Chandler market report.

Chandler's neighborhoods can feel very different from one another. Lake and golf communities sit only a few minutes from established streets with larger lots, and from townhomes near the business corridors. Touring a few areas before you focus on specific houses usually pays off.
